**GROUP SAYINGS**

Nick: Yeah, me and Puff[Daddy] go back a long way
AJ: Yeah, Nick. Puff the Magic Dragon.
Nick: You're not funny...

Nick:"when you come to L.A you have to dress like this"(talking to Howie about ALAYLM wardrobe)
Howie:"maybe when you come to L.A you gotta dress like this"

Nick:"well Howie what are you dressed like that for?"
Howie:"'cause i'm in a video shoot"
Nick:"that's not it"(laughing)

How: "I am the breakfast burrito man!"
Nick: "you don't even say it right"

Kevin: "Are you a Backstreet Boy?"
Brian: "No,hell no!"

"Mmmbop,I got clean socks, yeah Mmmbop Clorox rocks!"

AJ: "Gilligan Two Thousand, the wave of the future...Hey Skipper where we goin today?"
Howie: "yo hommie, gilligan, we'ze going back to the islands"
A.j: "Word!"
Howie: "to your brother!"

Brian: "He's staying with me tonight, yah, cuz I'm his guardian"
Nick: "You aren't my guardian!"
Brian: "I'm his big brother, and I'm gonna knock him out!"

How: "So where did you get your hat?"
Nigel Dick: "Well, don't tell anyone but I was working with these guys last week, and I got it from this guy named AJ."
How: "This is AJ McCLEANS hat?!"

We did this live show at this radio station in Spain and when we came out, we were mobbed. I had a necklace on that meant a great deal to me--my brother gave it to me for Christmas--and this girl just ripped it off my neck." Kevin, on Backstreet Boys mania

"We haven't been home for Thanksgiving for three years,...Last year we were staying in Britain and it was really great,, but there's nothing like homemade pumpkin pie!" Nick, on being away from home

"It's great to have recognition at home. It took a long time, but finally our fellow Americans have cottoned onto us. I think a lot of it has to do with the Spice Girls bringing pop back into the US. They started getting successful, and everybody in America turned around and said, 'Okay, where are the homegrown acts?' So we turned up and said 'Here we are. we've been here all along, you just never noticed before.' " Brian, on success in America

"Sometimes [people] do get the wrong impression, 'cause all they see is the young, blond boy thing, but it makes me want to show them what I'm really like even more. And I think that's what the Backstreet Boys is about--being ourselves. There are times where you're out and guys got something to say to you, but you just take it all with a grain of salt." Nick

"Communication is the biggest key to keeping everything together. We are like blood brothers and like any family, we have our ups and downs. In fact, we're together twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. So communication is important.. We don't keep things inside and then blow up one day.We talk freely and try to dothings for the good of the group." Howie, on getting along with the others

"I don't think any of us are tihking about going solo. It's like the whole New Edition thing that's going on: somewhere down th line we could all go solo, but then we'd get back together ten years later and be even better than we were before!" AJ, on splitting up in the future

"I hope the success never stops. i want us to be around for a long time, but you have to take it step by step, day by day, dealing with things that come your way in a logical manner. It's so easy to fall into your own hype." Brian, on staying humble

"We're really focused on not taking our fans for granted. You can't get caught up in it, because there's no way to please everybody. but when we can, we like to give them some special attention. We're just trying to be nice and give them a little something back." AJ, on fans

"We've got some brilliant fans. we get really excited when we're flying back into a country like Britain, because we get to meet them again--we literally sit on the plane going 'Oh, do you think helen, or Louise, or whoever, will be at the airport?' " Brian on fans

"I remeber once we were performing a song from the album on stage, and I had to sing the first two verses. The dance routine was really difficult, and I was concentrating so hard I blanked out the words. I ended up just humming along. the other guys were useless. They were creased up laughing and din't try to help me at all." Brian

"We'd go to local labels and sing a capella in their foyers. We'd sing anywhere for anybody." Howie, on starting out

"There were two other members that didn't work out and I replaced them. Then we needed another member. Brian's my cousin...and I called him up and he came down to Florida...and he auditioned." Kevin
