Millennium climbed 2 spots this week to
land at #10 on the Billboard 200. It has sold over 30
million copies around the world. Although it slipped 2 positions last week,
SMTMOBL climbed 3 this week to land at #9 on the Billboard 100
chart.
SMTMOBL
climbed 2 on the American Top 40 ending up as the #1
song in the USA. It hit the #1 spot on Canada's Much Music
countdown after spending two weeks at #2. Over in Europe, it grabbed the #2 spot
on the MTV top 20 chart and is currently #1 on Worldpop UK's
global singles chart.

Backstreet Boys are expected to announce shortly dates for the UK around
September to tie in with the release of their new album.
According to Amazon.com the
release date of the Standing Room Only video has been dalayed until Januarary
1st, 2001.
Contest During the show one lucky viewer will be selected to fly to Hamilton,
Ontario and go up on stage and be serenaded by the Backstreet Boys at their
concert March 14. After selecting finalists from phone entries, the winner will
be selected following several elimination rounds of BSB trivia questions.

Pre-registration for the Mcy.com PPV begins Feb 29th at
Things haven't slowed down for the Backstreet Boys since their Grammy
appearance last week. They hosted, with their Management company The Firm, a
super chic, post awards party at a Bel Air mansion - with 1,600 invitees,
including a surreal mix of celebs like Howard Stern, Bijou Phillips, Melissa
Joan Hart, Vince Vaughn, Kid Rock, Chevy Chase, Lacey Chabert, Mark Wahlberg,
Jamie Foxx and Lionel Richie.The Backstreet Boys will hit the studio in May to
start recording their next album.

Backstreet Boys and Elton John
When Elton John was asked who he thought should have won a grammy that
didn't, his reply was: "I think that the Backstreet Boys should've taken
home an award, they are a great group of guys, and I think it's great what they
do."
Elton John launched his new official web site today eltonjohn.com and below is an excerpt from Elton's letter where he explains about the Backstreet Boys apprearing on his new album, "The Road to El Dorado".
"It was also great to have the Backstreet Boys appear on stage with me because I have gotten to know them all a little bit just recently, and not only are they great performers, but they also very hard working professionals and really nice guys. Incidentally, they also do the backing vocals on “Friends Never Say Goodbye” from my new El Dorado album."
So, they aren't singing on the current single, as reported earlier! Just to let you know, that album will be released on March 14th! Elton rocks! (Oh, yeah, the Boys do to!!)

Howie Dorough wore a bright orange lupus loop when he attended the Grammy Awards
last Wednesday night. Howie's sister, Carolyn Cochran, passed away nearly two
years ago due to complications of lupus. The loop is the centerpiece of the new
"Get into the Loop" lupus awareness campaign that is about to be
launched nationally. The orange loop represents the "Circle of
Knowledge" that people at risk for lupus should possess, and helps to
create a brand identity for lupus, just as the red and pink ribbons have done
for AIDS and breast cancer awareness.
DJ Kane from 104.5 in Lexington, KY said they would have an interview with BSB
soon at an undisclosed location (this is big for us Kentuckians because we
aren't a place that gets much attention) so if anyone listens to Kane (7 pm to
midnight) they might want to listen. This is LATE news. So it might have
happened already, or didn't...
A seatfiller at the 2000 Grammys said that the Boys were very nice to all the
fans and other seatfillers at the show. Kevin actually stood up during a
performance so a seatfiller could stay in her seat longer.

SMTMOBL climbed 2 positions this week to land at #7 on the Billboard 100
chart. It climbed 2 positions on Rick Dee's weekly top 40 ending up as the #1
song in the USA. It also held on to the #1 spot on Canada's Much Music countdown
making it the most popular song in Canada for two weeks in a row.
Over in the UK, it debuted at #3 on the MTV UK chart and is currently #1 on
Worldpop UK's global singles chart. It's still #2 on the MTV Europe chart and in
Asia, the song is continuing it's climb to the top reaching #7 on the MTV Asia's
Hit List.

And neither is the one that Latona is pregnant. Two of his bandmates -- Kevin Richardson and his cousin Brian Littrell -- are, however, still spoken for. BSB go to Burger King
Backstreet mania hit Toronto July 25 when a local radio station leaked that
the pop stars were in town shooting a Burger King commercial over several days
at various locales. The shoot is for a BK Boys promotion which will launch in
late summer or early fall. Burger King will be promoting a behind-the-scenes
video as well as compact discs that feature one new song from the Boys' upcoming
album, as well as previously recorded but "never aired" songs by the
BSBs. The CD will be a purchase-with-purchase offer at participating Burger King
restaurants. According to a BK
source, there will be three commercials shot in
Toronto, two geared toward adults, the other geared towards younger consumers.

Elton might be joined by The Boys for his 50th and perhaps 51st performance
at Madison Square Garden in New York in October. The event called "Elton
John's GREATEST HITS - LIVE!"is being taped for Network TV in the fall and
a double CD and DVD release for Christmas!

Our Boys didnt take any moonmen home from this years MTV VMAs. It was a close call all night for the Viewers Choice award, NSync came up ahead. We'll get one next year.
TRL fans voted for Backstreet Boys' appearances on TRL on 10/9/00 and
"Backstreet Over Broadway" on 11/21/00. From 10 of "TRL's

Around The World, a 90-minute documentary-style film which follows the Backstreet Boys on their 100 hour around-the-world album release tour will be in stores on June 19th .
